Visitor and Home Visitation Policy and Procedure

Visitation hours 8:00 am- 8:00 pm. Outside of visiting hours by appointment only.

Purpose:

CCN is committed to a safe, secure, and healthy environment for our residents, our employees, and all visitors to the facility. CCN will continue to utilize best practices for infection control within each of our facilities.

Policy:

CCN’s policy will allow for a resident and/or their guardian to designate family members, friends, and other individuals with whom they wish visitation. Indoor and outdoor visits at the facilities will be allowed at all times for all residents.

Procedure:

1.      Upon arrival, visitors will enter in the designated visitor entrance where the resident resides and check in with the nurse and/or manager on duty.

2.      Guests will be allowed to visit with the residents in any designated visitor location or in the resident’s room.

3.      Other forms of resident communication will continue to be encouraged (including phone calls, virtual visits (Face Timing), etc.) to maximize the opportunities that our residents have to interact with their loved ones.

4.      CCN continues to promote a healthy environment and prevent the spread of illnesses within the facility.

a.      Hand sanitizer is available in all areas within the CCN.  Visitors will be encouraged to sanitize hands before and after resident visits and as needed during the visit.

b.      Signage is posted throughout CCN for infection control education.

c.      Staff and visitors will utilize PPE for screening per CDC guidelines, should an individual be placed on isolation for medical necessity.

5.      We strongly encourage any visitor is ill (cold and/or flu symptoms, gastrointestinal issues, fever, etc.) to refrain from visiting the facility until they are well and are no longer displaying any symptoms of illness.

6.      Any visitor who is unable to adhere to CCN visitation policies and procedures should not be permitted to visit or be asked to leave at any point during the visit.

In the event of an individual placed on isolation due to medical necessity:

This individual will still have the right to visitation. To maintain the safety of the individuals, staff, and visitors to the facility, all visitors will be expected to follow rules regarding the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during the visitation. Failure to follow these expectations will result in the end of the visit.

Offsite Day Visits or Overnight visits:

All residents are allowed offsite and overnight visits. Off-site day or overnight visits should be scheduled with the QIDP (qualified intellectual disabilities professional) during office hours at least 72 hours in advance to allow for any necessary supplies/medications to be prepared.

1.      Upon arrival, visitors will enter in the designated visitor entrance where the resident resides and check-in with the nurse and/or manager on duty.

2.      Upon return from a day or overnight visit the person supported will check in with the manager or nurse on duty.
